Are sunflowers annuals? A friend of ours had a sunflower themed wedding on 9/9/17 in Wales. Table decorations and bouquets all contained sunflowers, the bride even found a vintage wedding dress in pale yellow with a sunflower print. Looked fantastic, wish we could have been there. My great exp many yrs ago. coming back from Rockies w/ Karen Goonan in 1977 ( Dakota) pulled into a farm field in the middle of the night to get some sleep. wake in the morning to find we are in sunflower like this as far as the eye can see. had to stand on top of my s/wagon( that old blue rambler) just to see over the top. they are like 10 ft tall.

Sunflowers are my favorite flowers. Mainly because they have the ability to follow the sun. But being born and raised in Kansas and marrying a man that used to be a farmer, I’ve seen my fair share of sunflower fields. Last summer we drove to Maine from Montana. We drove by miles, & miles, & miles of sunflower fields, this was late Aug. When we returned all the fields had been cut! number 11 on this list, welcomes all visitors to enjoy their fields free of charge- even offering wagon rides, snacks, and more…. and all they ask in return is that- those who can- make a small donation to the local Hospice House. Truly amazing people!
