I am so glad when sometimes I open my mouth and my mom comes out… she was and is so special.
It’s my chance to chase all that I didn’t “get to” last week. It’s my chance to make better choices and to open up my heart . I know you are giving the Universe a lot of laughs…Thank You mama for all you have done for me. I love you….
Miss my mama
It’s Monday, mama’s! I don’t know about y’all, but this day every week represents a rebirth for me. and my mind to being a better version of myself as a business owner, a wife, a mother. This is about all of that, and so much more. I was on calls this morning with potential mama clients, and in between calls
I look over and I see my amazing little girl dressed up in a red, powerhouse, let’s close a business deal dress and my favorite snakeskin heels. I smiled at her as she said, “Mommy, is this what you used to wear before you had kids?!”
My proudest moments
Yes, she said that, and it literally knocked the wind out of me. As much as being a mom has undoubtedly fulfilled me, I still have moments when I look around and think,
“Why am I not living in a big city, filled with skyscrapers, and big hopes and dreams?!”
I miss meeting up with my girlfriends and drinking a martini during happy hour, and I miss WHO I USED TO BE.
So, the topic for my Monday morning post drastically changed, all because of this little girl and what came out of her mouth.
Well, here is where I am learning to bridge this gap for myself. The old me needed to grow,
the old me needed to become better and live a more purpose driven life.
I have to say sometimes I open my mouth and my mother comes out but that’s ok.
Here it is: Mama, I know there are days when you STRUGGLE, when you MISS who you used to be with every fiber of your being. We never lose ourselves in motherhood, mama. We find ourselves, and for that we are BETTER. Don’t yearn for the life that WAS,
Mostly true! We only speak the best words of our mothers!
